At Nova Property Fund Management AG, we believe that incorporating sustainability criteria into the value chain is a key factor in the success of our business activities. We pursue a holistic approach to sustainability that can be applied to the management of our investment vehicles with careful consideration of corporate, environmental and social aspects. This allows us to meet our stakeholders’ current and future requirements and to make a significant contribution to resource conservation and climate protection, while taking account of social developments. In doing so, we always strive to ensure that information flow is comprehensible and transparent for our stakeholders.

In accordance with the importance placed on sustainability in our business strategy, the sustainability strategy guidelines are implemented by the Board of Directors in an integrated and interconnected manner. The Executive Board is tasked with developing and implementing our strategic objectives alongside a dedicated Sustainability team and all department heads along our value chain. Overall responsibility for risk management lies with the Board of Directors. The measures are implemented directly by the Executive Board, the Sustainability team and Risk Management.

The sustainability framework was developed and directly implemented in 2023. Based on a holistic approach to sustainability, the following elements form the cornerstones of Nova Property Fund Management AG’s sustainability framework:

Stable growth and sustainable profitability

Nova Property Fund Management AG promotes sustainable property portfolios and maintains an optimal earnings-to-risk ratio through appropriate diversification by region, location and type of use. Investments through construction activities involving new and existing buildings are made with a focus on sustaining value stability and improving marketability in the property portfolio.

Employees, stakeholders and partnerships

Nova Property Fund Management AG maintains a cooperative dialogue with investors, tenants and partners and actively works with external service providers (stakeholders) to implement the sustainability goals along the value chain of the property cycle. As a responsible employer, Nova Property Fund Management AG promotes the professional and personal development of all its employees and places particular importance on equal opportunities and discrimination protection. Integration of sustainability into the value chain

Sustainability as a policy must be integrated into the value chain over the long term. As a result, it can be embedded in the managed property portfolios from acquisition to portfolio management, via property repositioning and realignment and it can also be integrated permanently and holistically into the process landscape for demolitions, liquidations and risk management.

Responsible corporate governance

The Board of Directors is responsible for monitoring sustainability and defines Nova Property Fund Management AG’s sustainability strategy and objectives together with the Executive Board. The Executive Board is responsible for the operational implementation of the sustainability strategy alongside the dedicated Sustainability team.

Compliance and risk management

Sustainability risks are considered in the risk management and internal control system of Nova Property Fund Management AG.

Innovation and digitalisation

Innovations at both product and management level, as well as digitalisation measures, are aimed at reducing carbon emissions and ensuring a sustainable return on investment. In the medium term, Nova Property Fund Management AG aims to digitalise across the value chain.
